Black pearl on the columbia wedding

A summer day in Washougal, WA for Sophia and Art. Their Black Pearl on the Columbia wedding was so beautiful in every way. A day filled with the presence of God, laughter and love. I met Sophia and Art through my dear friend Vera, a photographer very close to me, Sophia's aunt. Upon initially speaking I knew Sophia, Art and I would be a great match. Our mutual love for Jesus and our approach to what weddings were truly about made me so excited to fly on the other side of the country to document.

It rained a lot on their day, but their love truly brought the sunshine. We originally started at a family members lovely house for the getting ready, and it was like a photographer's playground. FULL of natural light an neutral tones, I had a field day. We then load up the cars and head to a GORGEOUS chateau, Monet Vineyards, for their first look and most of the portraits.I honestly could've stayed there all day shooting, but the rain had other plans, haha. Finally we headed over to their venue, Black Pearl on the Columbia for the ceremony and remainder of the night.

Such beautiful moments of laughter and prayer filled the day. There were also a lot of sentimental moments where family members sang songs in honor of them, wrote original pieces to celebrate them, played games to give well wishes and just so much more. Art even sang Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me to the Moon" for her, and there wasn't a dry eye in the room.

All in all, this day was filled with so much joy and love and I was so honored to be there to document!
